The screensavers should be put into the C:/Windows/system32 folder, while the desktop themes should be placed in the C:/Windows/Resources/Themes folder, if you know the respective locations to put these files on your Windows XP PC. I took a few liberties with the desktop themes (mostly with the wallpaper for the Embedded theme), so it's not like the original counterparts, but I just wanted to do this, just like what ESCalation is doing with recreating unreleased Counter-Strike maps. SCR files included in the screensavers folder are optional, the desktop themes should work without problems. In addition, I translated the Portugueses and Chinese language desktop themes for variety. Download classic Windows themes for Windows 10 Brick, Spruce and so on total 17 themes. Also, I was able to find the Xmas 2003 theme from the user on the OSForums website, who commented on my archival of the themes and included it in my desktop themes archive. ![]() I have just created a Zip file containing every official downloadable desktop themes included to create an unofficial standalone release of these desktop themes. If you guys have any of these lost files once downloadable from Microsoft's website years ago, I want to hear from you. I excluded Royale Noir (a leaked official Microsoft Windows XP theme) and the Embedded theme (included with Windows POSReady 2009) as those can easily be found online. There are also these files that I found or don't have, ThemeInstaller.exe (which what I got from the Wayback Machine method for some reason) and GER_Version.zip (Christmas 2003 theme?) mentioned in this blog here: /christmas-desktop-theme-pack-2003-for-windows-xp/ Those are the MSI & EXE files that I was able to find using Internet Archive's Wayback Machine to find some of those files once offered on many years ago (but the English versions of some of the Desktop Themes mentioned on that helpwithwindows article are presumably lost).
